Initial traction had been slow, with some believing that the app may not pass its target in time, but the scales tipped to the target figure at 10:30 PDT time today. The self-imposed figure was passed with more than 6,000 ‘member’ level backers (paying $50), 1,700 ‘developers’ ($100) and more than 50 ‘app pros’ ($1,000).
App.net had reached 70 percent of its funding on Friday, when revealed that developers were already building apps for the service.
